Preparation

The Self is multidimensional.

As you approach expanded states of consciousness, it is helpful to consider the

physical,

mental,

emotional,

relational,

creative,

and spiritual

aspects of yourself.

All of you.

• Keep up with or adopt a simple meditation practice. 15 minutes a day is a good place to start.

• Spend time in nature. No podcasts, no music.

• Be mindful of what you consume: food, media, conversation, environments, company. Check your screen time.

• Pay attention to your dreams. Explore them with curiosity and note them for reflection.

• Be gentle on your body. Find movement. Rest, nourish, hydrate, and eat well.

• Consider a massage or acupuncture before. Perhaps plan for bodywork afterwards. Allow yourself to drop in to your body.

Preparation includes planning for after your experience.

Your future self will thank you.

Have you set aside time for rest afterwards?

Will the environment you return to be supportive for you?

Who might be available to turn to should you need extra support?

Is there any scheduling/rescheduling that might be supportive?

How do you feel in your body?

Where are you aware of yourself struggling?
